BiographyAfter studying at two prominent arts institutions in India, the College of Fine Arts and Architecture in Hyderabad and Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda, Dakoji traveled to New York in 1980 to study at Robert Blackburn’s Printmaking Workshop. There he apprenticed under Krishna Reddy, also featured in this exhibition. He became involved in the Printmaking Workshop as a teacher, juror, and exhibiting artist. In India, he co-founded Atelier 2221 Print and Edition Studio with his wife and fellow printmaker Pratibha. In 1992, he joined the renowned printmaking school Tamarind Institute at the University of New Mexico. Dakoji and his wife currently live in New York.
