Pratibha Dakoji
Pratibha Dakoji graduated with a diploma in graphic design from MSU, Baroda, in 1977 and a year later attended an intensive printmaking workshop at the Chelsea School of Art in London. From 1997 to 2003, she was the Director of Atelier 2221, India’s first independent printing studio which focused on small print runs. These exhibited works represent her playful approach to printing techniques as they utilize mezzotint – the strategic roughening and smoothing of a metal plate to imitate shading – and etching to evoke whimsical and phantasmal landscapes.
