Sukla Sen Poddar

India, born 1956
BiographyPoddar began her printmaking career with a graduate degree at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, then continued her studies in Japan with a Government of India scholarship. This print is evidence of her experience working at Atelier 17, Paris. Co-directors Stanley William Hayter and Krishna Reddy, along with another artist from India, Kaiko Moti, developed the printmaking technique of color viscosity / simultaneous color inking in Paris in the 1950s. Works by Reddy and Hayter are on display in this gallery.
