Biography• Thorington is a printmaker that specializes in the medium of lithography, a method of printing on a smooth surface that relies on the inability of oil and water to mix to create an impression.
• The artist completed her undergraduate studies at Kansas State University in 1965.
She earned a Master of Fine Arts in printmaking from George Washington University in 1975.
• Thorington later attended the University of New Mexico’s Tamarind Institute, a prestigious training ground for lithographic printers.
• The artist was a professor of printmaking and drawing at Montgomery College in Maryland for twenty-five years.
