James (Jim) Charles Munce

United States, born 1938
Biography• Munce is a printmaker, who specializes in etching, a process in which an artist incises an image in a metal plate with a corrosive substance and presses ink into the grooves formed before printing.

• The artist had a decades-long career as a professor of printmaking at Kansas State University. He retired in 2003.

• Munce was educated at the Minneapolis School of Art and completed a master of fine arts in printmaking at Indiana University in 1971.
