Biography• Aeling is known for his landscape depictions of the High Plains of Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado and open seas of Hawaii.

• Aeling was raised in Oahu, Hawaii, where his father was stationed as an army physician. Oahu in the 1950s and 1960s was the site of the United States Pacific Fleet’s arsenal of nuclear weapons, making the island a likely target for a nuclear exchange.

• The artist is based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
