Description

  • About the materials in her papier mâché sculptures, Beeman has said: “The use of recycled materials appeals to me because it mimics nature’s methods, which fascinate me as I work in my organic garden and spend time on daily walks in natural settings with my crazy dog.  For me, art is both an act of creation and a therapeutic exercise.”

  • Sculptures of “bugs” and other insects, the artist has said, are inspired by “my experiences as a biology and entomology student, a research scientist, a teacher, a wife, and mother to three daughters.”
