Trained in Graphic Design at Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Baroda and the Central School of Art in London, Vinod S. Patel was first drawn to printmaking through his production of a printed calendar for MSU’s Fine Arts Fair. Patel initially worked in lithography but eventually taught himself silkscreen. His prints incorporate imagery from advertisements, illustrations and technical documents into an aesthetic which borrows from the over-printed or over-pasted posters overlaid with graffiti or personalized calligraphy one might encounter at a metropolitan intersection.
