• Mizuno graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of science degree and then attended the Kansas City Art Institute, where he studied ceramics under art professor Ken Ferguson. Mizuno received his master of fine arts degree from Arizona State University in 1997. He was a professor of art at St. Cloud State University, MN, until 2016.

• Mizuno’s signature ceramics are intricate, sometimes fictional plant and insect sculptures. Other works incorporate human and animal skulls.
