On View
Not on view• Nam wrote the following about her series Arranged Flowers, which includes this print: “… the flowers, once cut from their roots, have only a short remaining time to live. They will quickly wither and die, but before they do, they are elegantly and elaborately arranged, as if time will stand still for them. The containers that hold them are disposable objects…. These objects, although meant to be discarded immediately after use, often last longer than their intended lifespans.”
• Kitsune udon is a type of Japanese soup made with fish and kelp broth, thick wheat flour noodles, and deep-fried tofu (beancurd). The phrase literally means “fox noodles” because in Japanese folk tales, fried tofu is the fox’s favorite food.
