On View
Not on viewC. Louis Hafermehl’s highly stylized grasshopper bears little resemblance to the voracious insects that ravaged early Kansas farms. The Kansas State University Departments of Entomology (ranked fourth best entomology department in the world), Agricultural Biology, and Grain Sciences all have an interest in the greedy little beast.
A Lindsborg native, Hafermehl studied under Birger Sandzén at Bethany College and taught at K-State from 1948 to 1956 in the Department of Architecture and Allied Arts.
