On View
Not on viewArtist and designer Raymond Loewy worked for NASA from 1967 to 1973 as a habitability consultant for the Skylab space station, which launched in 1973. One of NASA's goals in hiring Loewy was to improve the psychological sense of safety and comfort of the spacecraft’s occupants. Unfortunately for the astronauts, most of Loewy’s recommendations were not adopted. Copies of some of Loewy’s renderings for Skylab are in the Exploration Station and accessible through Smartify.
