Not on view“Natarāja, the Lord of Dance” performance was inspired by the “Shiva Nataraja” installation in the exhibition “Transfigurations: Reanimating Ancient Art of India by David Lebrun.” It explores the details of the iconic Natarāja figure and expresses each component and their symbolic meanings in the classical Indian dance form Bharata Natyam. Concept, choreography and performance by Jui Mhatre, Communications and Marketing Specialist at the Beach Museum of Art and classical Indian dancer in the genre Bharata Natyam.
