David Overmyer’s New Deal murals in the great room of Kansas State University’s main library allegorize the four areas of study available during the late 1920s to the Kansas State Agricultural College students: agriculture, mechanics (science and industry), arts (music, literature, drama, painting, and architecture), and home economics.
