On View
Not on view• Like her husband Yoshiro Ikeda, whose work Raindrop Teapot stands behind this, Ester Ikeda developed an interest in creating varied textures in ceramics. This example shows her evoking the surfaces of textiles and patterns on clothing.
• Ikeda made her teapot in a size and shape suitable for actual use. In contrast, her husband’s Raindrop Teapot is too big and heavy to be functional.
