Description
The layers and colors in the innovative glasswork of Vernon Brejcha are inspired by nature. This work features gemstones, objects connected with the study of geology and mineralogy. Compare the colors and textures of the actual gemstones with the blown glass bowl.

Brejcha, a native of Ellsworth and Holyrood, Kansas, attended Fort Hays State University and later established the glass program at the University of Kansas, acting as its director from 1976 to 1991. He attributes his versatile skills with glass to the apprenticeship system favored by the University of Wisconsin, where he received his master’s degree in fine arts. He worked under glass artist Harvey K. Littleton.
