Description
This photograph shows Moore carving the featured bas-relief sculpture of friend and fellow artist Robert T. Aitchison (born 1887, Columbus, Kansas; died 1964, Wichita, Kansas).  Aitchison headed the art department at McCormick Armstrong Company. Moore taught sculpture at Wichita State University. He moved to Washington DC in 1950 but returned to Wichita each summer to teach art classes into the 1960s.
