Printing Beyond Borders 2025
Printing Beyond Borders: Contemporary Indian Prints at Kansas State University showcases forty-six prints created in the later twentieth century by Indian printmakers and collected by Charles Stroh, a former head of the K-State art department on a research trip to India in 1984 and 1985. The first rotation of this exhibition focuses on the artists, institutions, and printmaking networks that had been established in India by the time Stroh first traveled there. The second rotation looks at the global scope of Indian printmaking, especially in the 1970s and 1980s. By emphasizing the training of Indian printmakers at international institutions and workshops, this selection of prints will show how those collaborations shaped printmaking in India.
